Shibori is the Japanese technique of using stitch resist, clamping and tie dye to create wonderful patterns, stunning visual interest and texture into your fabric. When the white cotton fabric is dyed traditional navy blue the stitched, wrapped and clamped resists leave a beautiful white pattern. You will stitch into and wrap 1.5 metres of white cotton fabric, learning about many traditional patterns. Towards the end of the workshop you will mix up some navy procion dye to represent the traditional indigo navy blues. All resources (fabric, thread and dyes) are included in the cost of this workshop.
This workshop takes place from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Lunch is not included, but there is a cafe on site.
